The entire Fillmore April 1971 is justly famous. Recorded on pristine 16-track tape for the Dead's intended live LP SKULL & ROSES, the songs found here are the best of what didn't make the cut. But - and this is important - these performances should be listened to as part of the superb 4CD LADIES AND GENTLEMEN... boxed set, easily accessible from here. It is a perfectly sequenced collection, presenting all this material to better advantage. A classic era and a classic set.
