I LOVE this show. First. Every song is fantastic. Second, with all the banter, it really like you're there. Loved hearing it. Loved hearing complaining how hot it was. And third, the recoding quality was amazing.

Sometimes, something that happens can't be framed, or captured or reframed and referenced with words. It's like the words aren't enough. They fall short. Real short. Like this right here. How do you describe Veneta. Without taking your soul out of your sleeve and dipping it in California Sunshine until it's soaked right through. Saturated and sparkling with the sunken light of a hazy wave of indefatigable euphoria. Man. 1972. When I play the radio. I hear nothing. It's like a murmuring silence. Just a dud. Then I open up the Play Dead app, that cuts me £9 a month. I hear this. Whenever I want to. And I think man if the cats behind this app contacted me direct and said "Wagon, baby, we need to get into you for some real coin. I'd give them my lungs. They could take everything but my ears baby... I don't observe that heavy traffic about which era was better than the other. To me, the Dead are an experience. Every show speaks to an avenue in your life that you're navigating through. Man, it's like the music has its own fluid and dynamic place in the psyche and it just keeps evolving and growing. It moves you with it to this greater place, beyond society and expectations. Beyond the systems and the substructure. When you line that record up, or you pop in that cassette or click out that CD or open up that app. You're shutting a door on the mimetic aspiration and ungovernable sociopsychological consumerism that eats at the soul. The Dead empower you to be who you are, beyond what people want you to be. Can I review a single cut from Veneta? No baby, but can I say it changes me every time I play it. Yeah man. Undoubtedly. So don't sleep on this. It's considered to be the best. I don't know too much about switching up shows in some heavy order. There's music that fills a gap. Then there's music that breathes a light into your soul to keep it going. Keep it running. Keep it real pat. The greatest testament to Veneta is the footage of Dark Star, and that dancing cat on the pole man. He's the physical manifestation of what this music does to you...

5 out of 5 for me. I LOVE this show! Every song here could qualify for best ever. The bird song is quite simply magic. It’s hard to imagine man creating something so beautiful, but here it is.
