Mint Fall ‘73 show, most notable for the Playin>UJB>Dew>UJB>Playin sandwich that they only did a few times. Great stuff.

Such a fun show, a legendary 2nd set. I can see why Dave picked this one out early.

UCLA '73 man. What a trip.
Real epic '73 Dead.
There's a light that resonates from the blistering '72 run in Europe and a lot of what you experience in '73, at shows like 11/17/73 showcase how those cuts were immortalised as high energy, up tempo pieces.
If memory serves I'm sure Pigpen sat out the Pauley Pavilion show in '71 and sadly by the time '73 rolled around he was gone x
This show is real deep, there are some sweet, stellar and soulful cuts, like LLR -man, Bobby's voice. Billy, Phil and Jerry really serve up a rhythm.
There's some special segues and some beautiful nods to how tight the band were during this post Pigpen iteration of the Dead.
I reckon of this show it serves to turn the light on for any emerging heads out there. We've got a Deal that doesn't just kick out of the traps man it bolts. Gives any May '77 Deal a run baby.
Don't sleep on it x

The 2nd set of this show is loved by many, but I can't think of a better first set in late 73. It's so damn good. You won't find a better Here Comes Sunshine.
