Any show from ‘74 is gonna rock big time, but I’ll always be a ‘73 snob. Sorry, but actually not too sorry…’73 sound and pace was…wait for it…perfection in my humble opinion. There is absolutely nothing like 1973 Grateful f’ing Dead. I’m pretty sure Wall of Sound was in full fury by June ‘74, which make these shows even cooler. But I bet the only way to truly feel the mile-long sound waves was to be there. Nuts. Crazy. So radical. Thank you to those who make these listening sessions available!!!!!!!!!

One of my favorite shows. Spanish Jam out of Dark Star is fabulous and then the transition to U.S. Blues is unbelievable and what follows is a ripping version of U.S. Blues for the ages. A must on Independence Day!
