The whole second set is incredible: a triple Playin’ sandwich. The jam after Samson is clearly a Playin’ jam, though not labeled as such (the archivists can do better!). The transitions are amazingly fluid. The jam afterEyes is utterly original. The whole set is continuous. This is simply a sterling example of what made this band like no other in the world. ~ Here in the app you have track divisions and therefore categorization; but imagine being in the audience, with no such boxes… your mind is simply blown by fluid and improvisational brilliance with no dividing lines. ~This is one of the best sets of the year. ~ The previous night’s second set in Rochester, not yet in the app, is also very special.
