We all went through this progression where the night before was considered by many to the “the best ever” (silly to say about any show, really), to then the response by so many became this night in Buffalo is better. I don’t know about that either. I always considered the 3 shows from Boston 5/7 thru Buffalo 5/9 as a trio to be enjoyed together. All great, as is most of ‘77! One little note about this show, I always find it funny when Jerry literally gets confused right before singing “If you get confused, listen to the music play.” Timeless classic of a show.

5/8 gets all the love but 5/9 is far and away the superior show, imho (though the Brown-Eyed women from Cornell is in a league of its own). This was one of the jewels in my tape collection and remains a favorite repeat play. Pure ear candy.
