This roaring show from '78 is up there with the best of them. It's got the energy, the pace, the jamming and the psychedelic kickbacks.
April '78 was an awesome time for the Dead.
This captures that beautifully.
It's up there with Huntington and the earlier Dane County with those exploratory setlists and segues.
Jerry's vocals on Ramble on Rose are perfect. The harmonies throughout our exciting and cohesive. There's a gruff delivery of "goodbye mama and papa" as ROR draws with Donna's sweet, "yeah, yeah" and you know you're experiencing something tangible, ethereal and typical of the Dead, and that's high energy perfection.
There's a sultry Stayin' Alive tease into Me & My Uncle...I could carry on, but I wanna hit the lights and drop out to this, so get involved Deadheads. Don't sleep on it x
