About my Wang Dang comment: maybe it’s from hearing later versions for years and it’s just my hindsight. But it does seem like he’s just not hearing the right sound(key) he’s looking for in these 83 versions. And it’s seems to throw Bobby off and he never gets the groove quite right. 9/2/83 is decent though

This and the next night are just phenomenal. People mention the St Stephen for obvious reasons but the jam after Bertha is probably my favorite part. Both nights have a great energy about them. However I need ask: do others get as frustrated listening to these older versions of Wang Dang Doodle as I do. You just wanna shake Jerry.!
