drum trails thru my brain in paradise universe standing stage center. I’ll never forget these Richmond shows in the Dead DMV (DC-MD-Va) Sphere.. Richmond was rare tour stop in GD era but luckily got great shows in 77 & 85. Like to think Dead felt great hippie vibes there. Fall 85 shows (2 nights in my first semester VCU after lots CT, NY, RI & Mass GD & JGB shows) also got descended on by huge east coast big city crowds on this sleepy southern city with negative with legacy policing tactics hoping evolved into something better today. But probably left bad taste for lot folks about this city., Anyway moral of this quip- Keep you day job until night time gig pays & isn’t job wearing badge beating up good ol folks

The excitement of the second sent was just unbelievable and unpredictable. I remember saying to my ex wife”When are they going in to drums”. Also, the energy of Brown Eyed Women and Jack Straw coming out of the guitar solo was amazing. I remember being so naturally high after this show. High on endorphins. What a weekend in Richmond.

With over 400 shows under my belt, this is one of my favorite second sets ever. I believe it was the only Lost Sailor - > Saint split by drumz/space. Before drumz is unique and outstanding, but the entire after space list is like no other, with Saint, Gimme Some Lovin', She Belongs to Me, and a stomping Gloria. Just WOW! Unfortunately capped with a Day Job encore, but they had to calm us down before sending us home.
