The same people that complain about Vince’s MIDI and Synth extravaganzas seem to fit that Jerry didn’t want him playing a B3 Organ because it reminded him of Brent. Same went for playing a standard acoustic grand piano because of Bruce/Keith. They pretty much cut the guy off at the knees, and I’m glad the tapes are getting the drops they deserve. Vince deserves another listen IMO.

I really enjoy the grad wide open and airy sound that Vince could bring in the years after Bruce stopped touring with the band. I know some don’t share that opinion. But on shows like this and 12/16/92 you can really hear it. I love all eras of GD music. Every keyboardist brought a new sound. It helped keep things interesting and gives great variety to the different eras. Vince might not have been as intense or versatile as Brent but while on his own in the last few years he got better. This show is great all the way through with a dreamy set list. Don’t let the short Playin jam fool you. This one is great. Can’t ask for a much better second set from this era.

This was my first show and I sure picked a winner! When the first notes of Dark Star ripped through the arena the entire room went electric with excitement. I remember going to the restroom at one point in the second set and being transfixed by the spinners in the concourse near the concessions. They were like little tornados of ride and patchouli and one dude was flow dancing with a hot dog. Just wild. Anyway, to say I was hooked would be the understatement of the millennium. Here I am still, all these years later searching for the best versions of every song - which is a fun game to play with your buddies - trying to out-Althea each other. Might be a cool feature for this app actually.

Right away you can tell the boys are on. What a chestnut of a find. Love it. Might be my favorite Lazy River Road—Jerry sounds great

Honestly, I don't know how they settled on this one night of this cat Center run. All three nights were top notch. I used to listen to the CD's constantly could never get enough of any of them. There's a China Rider with Bruce on accordion from this run, and it's definitely the best accordion sit and I've ever heard ....we used to make fun of it SO much but it's pretty pumping and awesome on this
