Reviews for Grateful Dead: Dick's Picks, Volume 22: Kings Beach Bowl, Kings Beach, CA 2/23/68 and 2/24/68

From the cosmic chaos of an extended VLB opener this DP soaks you in a real vibrant cluster of acid infused funk threaded with jazz and man, you won't look back. If you're keen to get a taste of solid acid Dead, then let this turn the light on. The whole scene is a real trip baby. Hurts Me Too is one of my favourite Pig.vocals. The track cuts like an indefatigable storm across some cityscape of industrial dunes man. It lends meaning to places that have never known it. If you want to capture the essence of that sweet blend of sultry blues and psychedelia then look no further than this DP cut. I can't say too much about Dark Star without a little California Sunshine if you catch my drift. But for those who know, then man it's Dark Star. The Eleven follows CCS and it's dirty, it's free, it's a hard hitting testament to how together and tight the band were. Don't sleep on it z

That Viola Lee Blues rocks, and every one is pretty much in point!
