I feel blessed to have seen Brothers Past countless times at the height of their powers, my own band even played with them a number of times and they became good friends. The second set of this show is one of the most nostalgic things I’ve heard in a while, and the band sounds great with Joe on drums. If you missed BP, there is plenty of archived material to go back and listen to the groundbreaking stuff they were achieving.
They got understandably lumped into the jam band category, but they were so much more than that, and the second set of this show reminds us of how great the actual songs were in the absence of the sprawling jams. Much love to Tommy and the guys for doing this in honor of an amazing album!
