Highlights include LTLO, Dirtbath, Run Like Hell.
Starting off....I would love to see Crazy in the rotations more often. Especially when it drops buttery smooth into Funkadelic. Fresh AF.
First highlight for me comes in LTLO... something something different key. Anywho. This one takes a quick(er than usual?) exit ramp from the song into a quiet, patient jam - initiated by Cory and Nick when Jordan and Brian step back (momentarily). Cory and Brian lay down the melody, and Jordan and Nick are firmly in the driver seat. A nice thematic build ensues before coming back into LTLO proper. Cory shines after the drop initially. Brian, Jordan, and Nick progressively build in some dissonance in this dark-ish version.
This version of Dirtbath is very spicy. Great version here.
This RLH is my favorite version they've played to date, and is my single favorite jam from Spaffski (through 7 shows), and possibly for 2024 to date. This flavor of Spafford is why I've followed them closely over the past decade plus. Patient, deliberate, thematic, original, blisfful playing from all band members, specifically after the 12:30 mark. Incredibly deep while being light-as-a-feather. These are the moments that make me want to hit every show. Just incredible playing from all 4 members individually and collectively.
