It’s really funny how people think jam bands hire a recording engineer. Hate to break it to you but they don’t. It’s usually a board mix straight to recording. So if the recording sucks it’s bc either the mix doesn’t translate or FOH is just focus on the live mix not the recording. Bands make their money by selling tickets not making stellar recordings. With that said, this was a festival set. Rat Sound did the audio with LL Acoustic speakers. The band flew in for a single set so it wasn’t like when they play venues with a dialed in system. It was really sub bass heavy in the front but I’m sure if I was at FOH it would have been fine for outdoors on the beach.

I’m thinking they didn’t have their full recording equipment with them

I second the notion that this recording/mix is hot garbage. Not to take away from the show itself, but the sound is straight terrible on this one. lol Biscuits sound guy - so true, whoever they hired last year consistently sucks at his job.

Did UM hire the Biscuits' sound guy to mix this? Sounds like listening from inside someone else's asshole

How did Sammy Hagar and/or Jason Bonham not come out and sit in on this set?! Considering UM opened for Sammy I thought for sure one of them would jam with UM. Anyways, this is a good fest set. Nothing more nothing less.
