Reviews for Umphrey's McGee: 9/11/2001 The Haunt, Ithaca, NY

A seminal show in UM history. What a time to be a Midwest band playing in NY. Not many bands played on 9-11-01. Yonder Mountain did. Bela Fleck did. Umphrey's McGee sure did, dropping healing music and vibes on the thirsty folks in Ithaca that night. Trenchtown Rock (Bayliss' choice) encapsulates the evening, and Ryan Stasik brings a tear to the eye with his wonderful rendering of America The Beautiful on bass guitar. Everything from Example 1 and Nothing Too Fancy to Got Me Wrong and YYZ all hit extra strong on this night. And don't forget about the "Prof with vox" to end the show (RIP Mirro). Wonderfully recorded, caressed, and preserved by Kevin Browning.

Just started this and I was in Manhattan on 9/11. Interested to hear this for the first time.
