I didn`t see the Florida run, which I`m going to look back on in life as a huge mistake! But I have listened to the live recordings and the band is on fire!
With the recent announcement of Billy`s departure, I hope you`ll allow me to share (more than a) few words about what String Cheese has meant to me.
First, I’d like to personally thank String Cheese for all being great musicians, masters at your instruments, and playing as one, as only can happen after years and years of hard, behind-the-scenes work,…. practice, practice, practice.. And then to be a team and go out and perform… the live performance, electric, creating synergy between band members integrated as one.. And audience… spiraling upwards to the heavens and stars..Those moments of being present to the moment. Livin’…Sci, your live performances made me feel alive again, and wait (impatiently) in anticipation for the next incident…Just call it String Cheese mind control! Love it!
Thank you for creating a community I feel in harmony with… for the first time ever in my life. Even when I traveled to see SCI alone, I knew I’d run into friends I`d previously met on the road. Having a good time and being good to one another, fellow human beings. Great energy. Great vibe. Good karma.
I’d like to personally thank each band member for…. Billy – for making me feel like a kid at 41. Best of luck perusing your dreams. I have this feelin’ that you’ll be the best at whatever you choose to do. Keith – for being a rock-solid foundation Kyle – for krazy kow suits and sparkly shirts. And generating those sounds that make me think there’s shit flying around the venue Michael – for mastery over multiple instruments, and the 1 Elastic Mystic performance that I experienced in 2003, that was… well… mystical of course! Jason – for that never ending, ear-to-ear smile And Travis – for being the energizer Travis, keep going and going and.…Best of luck with Zilla and Eoto. And, being a driving force behind Conscious Alliance, helping those less fortunate than we are
I also have to thank Joe Verdone – my mountain brother, my life mentor turning me onto this band back in 2002… and to 24 (and counting) shows together
And I can’t wait to the Fox in Atlanta Thanksgiving week, with my 2 best buds in the world… JV and Marmot, I love you guys!
And lastly, to Billy. It’s certainly with mixed emotions, but we all wish you best of luck pursuing your passion…their can be only 1 best picker in the business. Go get it!

What a hoot. When Kang said "Lets Party", I knew it was going to be a special night. The last time I saw the boys was Asheville 04. At that time Jason had just joined and was having some trouble finding his "Space". Well it`s official, HE FOUND IT!! They played their asses off. The audience was ready to party and so were they. One fed off the energy of the other. While it wasn`t sold out (Poor local promotion), so what! There was just extra room to groove. The playing, jams and segs were trmendous. The sound at the show was amazing in the balcony. Get this show! Peace

Well, I was thinking that this show was going to be a let down because of the mellow vibe. The cheese played in a 5 start venue right on a river in downtown Tampa that caters to the rich and famous! But they seemed to love it. It was a good start to the 3 show jaunt through FLA. My highlights were: the OTR opener, Jellyfish "all the way from santa Fe, wishing I was in Tampa Bay", Hotel Window> Latinissmo, Free Jam > ROTR, Howard! The boyz also enjoyed a lot of TEQUILA this night!

This show was top notch. Lots of great segues and inspired jamming...band seemed well rested. I`ve seen the boys for almost 10 years, and this is surely one for the collection. Plenty of room to dance as the venue was only about 50% sold this night. Despite this, great energy from the Tampa fans. Can`t wait for the ATL run!
