“Hello Charlottesville” -Paper Mache Lenny
KSC’s glorious return to their hometown at the Jefferson Theater. The band was on fire all night. Wolph opened the night.
Kickass Marty opener that goes into evil Godfather territory. Brian starts the OG studio intro for “Seem Serene” and the band followed quick.
Ben teases the classic Pearl Jam “Alive” lick in Wheel. Crab Surprise explores this one pretty cool motif for a while after the initial jam. Awesome performance of “How Can it Be” which will be out sometime 2026 as part of a larger folky project. From there, the band launches right into Petrified by request of a mysterious Instagram fan named OJ Simpson. Brian apparently met him at the movie theater and buttered his popcorn. His girlfriend also reached out to thank us for satisfying his request. It turned out to be an awesome version. This is the first time the band shortened the ending by a few bars.
Local legend Travis Elliott joined the band for the Dead’s “New Speedway Boogie.” Brian gets his gasoline at the gasoline store. 393 gets into ultra psych territory. Brian assures the audience that nobody will judge you for not smoking weed. Sidetracked jam is full of motifs. Like way more motifs than normal. Just one after another. Jake messes up 11 hits and then Ryan messes up 14 hits. At least there was extra credit. Goldilocks frequents the weed store according to Brian’s rambling Porridge story. Freedom, Chevy. Cars> We are the world was a funny idea from earlier in the week which blended well into the classic Biz Markie Lenny Boy Kung Fu Fighting mashup. Thanks to Alison for making the paper mach Lenny. Fun checkin’ out encore.
