“Thank you very much and good evening. My name is Brian Eno. I’ll be your host for the evening,” says Belew to the assembled crowd after the band has bulldozed their way into the building with Level Five. “Let’s go boys,” he says off-mic as they tear into ProzaKc Blues.

Within The ConstruKction Of Light Trey Gunn’s mind-bogglingly bewildering array of notes twists into all kinds of intriguing patterns between the interweaving guitars. All this time after it first appeared our ears are used to hearing it. However, for these punters, it would still possess a startling freshness that will have made folks simultaneously scratch their heads and smile at how easy Gunn makes it sound. All told this version is about as perfect as you’d want it.

Sadly the second half became extinct after Dinosaur roamed the stage and is lost to posterity.

Of the night, Fripp’s diary notes, “A strong onstage sound, reverberant in the hall, but the show had an integrity: it held together. This compared to the appalling sonic mess of the Warsaw Congresshall. The audience were supportive & generous.”
