As the first show on the final leg of the White Stripes final tour, the only performance Jack and Meg would ever undertake in the state of Maine is a solid documentation of the excitement and vigor of the '07 Icky Thump run of dates. The singularly unique, understated version of "Astro" is a delight while "Little Cream Soda" is thrillingly energetic in one of the less than a dozen times it would ever be performed live. "Blue Orchid" is fast and frenetic in all the right ways, melting into a one-of-a-kind affected take on "The Denial Twist" that skillfully leads to a particularly tender encore run of "Sugar Never Tasted So Good" into "We're Going To Be Friends" then "I Want To Be The Boy To Warm Your Mother's Heart"....all of which are beyond charmed. A unique show from an already unique period from The White Stripes. -Ben Blackwell
